Pecan Upside Down Cake Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 yellow cake mix
  • 1 package of instant vanilla pudding
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 stick (1/2 cup) of butter
  • Light brown sugar (enough to cover the bottom of your baking pan)
  • Pecan halves (enough to create a layer on top of the brown sugar)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the Baking Pan: Choose a bundt pan, square, or oblong baking pan. Generously spray the pan with baking spray to prevent sticking.
  3. Prepare the Pecan Layer: In a small saucepan, melt the stick of butter over low heat. Once melted, pour the butter into the prepared pan, making sure to evenly coat the bottom.
  4. Add Brown Sugar: Sprinkle a layer of light brown sugar over the melted butter in the pan. The amount of brown sugar can vary depending on your preference, but aim to cover the bottom of the pan evenly.

  6. Prepare the Cake Batter: In a mixing bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, instant vanilla pudding mix, eggs, oil, and water. Mix until well combined, and the batter is smooth.
