Description

Rice Krispie Easter Nests are cute and crunchy no-bake treats made with crispy rice cereal, marshmallows, and topped with candy eggs. Perfect for springtime fun with kids.


Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 (10 oz) bag mini marshmallows
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • Cooking spray or butter (for greasing)
  • 1 cup shredded coconut (optional, for grass effect)
  • Green food coloring (optional)
  • Candy-coated chocolate eggs or jelly beans

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
  2. Stir in Rice Krispies cereal until well coated.
  3. Lightly grease a muffin tin with cooking spray or butter. Spoon cereal mixture into each cup, pressing gently in the center with your fingers or a spoon to create a nest shape. Let cool and set.
  4. If using coconut, place it in a zip-top bag with a few drops of green food coloring. Shake until evenly colored.
  5. Once nests are set, optionally sprinkle with green coconut and top each with candy eggs or jelly beans.
  6. Gently remove from the muffin tin and serve or store in an airtight container.

Notes

  • Spray your hands with cooking spray to make shaping the nests easier.
  • Nests can be made 1–2 days in advance and stored in a sealed container.
  • Use silicone muffin cups for even easier release.
