Marry Me Chicken Tortellini is a rich and creamy pasta dish that’s filled with flavor. Juicy chicken is cooked in a creamy sun-dried tomato sauce, then combined with cheese tortellini for a deliciously indulgent dinner that’s perfect for special occasions or cozy nights in!

  • 1 lb chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • ½ cup sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 package (20 oz) cheese tortellini (fresh or refrigerated)
  • Fresh basil or parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Cook the Chicken: Season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil. Add the chicken and cook for 5-7 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
  • Sauté Garlic and Add Cream Sauce: In the same skillet, add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Pour in the heavy cream, chicken broth, sun-dried tomatoes, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes if using. Stir and bring to a simmer.
  • Add Parmesan and Chicken: Stir in the Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is smooth. Add the cooked chicken back to the skillet and let it simmer in the sauce for 3-5 minutes.
  • Cook Tortellini: In a separate pot, cook the tortellini according to package instructions. Drain and add to the skillet with the chicken and sauce. Toss gently to coat.
  • Serve: Garnish with fresh basil or parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, use sun-dried tomatoes packed in oil, and add a tablespoon of the oil to the sauce.
  • Adjust the sauce thickness by adding a splash of pasta water or more broth if needed.
