Description

A wholesome and flavorful one-pan meal made with lean ground turkey, tender cabbage, and simple seasonings—perfect for a quick and healthy dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 head green cabbage, chopped
  • 1 carrot, shredded
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth or water
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3–4 minutes.
  2. Add garlic and cook for another 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add ground turkey and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and cooked through, about 5–7 minutes.
  4. Stir in tomato paste, smoked paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1–2 minutes to blend the flavors.
  5. Add chopped cabbage and shredded carrot. Pour in chicken broth or water and stir to combine.
  6. Cover and cook for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender.
  7. Uncover and cook for another 2–3 minutes if needed to reduce excess moisture.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use purple cabbage for a colorful variation.
  • Serve over rice or quinoa for a more filling meal.
  • Add red pepper flakes for extra heat.
