Description

A simple, hearty, and budget-friendly dish made with ground beef and chopped cabbage, seasoned to perfection. Great for a quick and healthy weeknight meal.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium head cabbage, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup beef broth or water (optional, for moisture)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (optional for flavor depth)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add diced onion and garlic, sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened.
  4. Stir in chopped cabbage and season with paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  5. Add broth or water if the mixture seems dry. Cover and cook for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cabbage is tender.
  6. Uncover and cook for another 2-3 minutes to let excess liquid evaporate.
  7. Stir in soy sauce if using, adjust seasoning to taste, and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use lean ground beef to reduce fat content.
  • Can be made ahead and reheated for meal prep.
  • Optional: Add a splash of vinegar or hot sauce for a tangy or spicy twist.
