Description

Frito Pie is a fun and flavorful Tex-Mex dish made by layering crunchy corn chips with savory chili, melty cheese, and optional toppings like sour cream and jalapeños.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (15 oz) can chili beans
  • 1 (15 oz) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Optional toppings: sour cream, chopped green onions, sliced jalapeños

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add diced onion and garlic, cooking until softened, about 3 minutes.
  4. Stir in chili beans, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
