- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon sriracha or other hot sauce (adjust to taste)
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, rice vinegar, maple syrup, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, sriracha, and water.
- Stir well and bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat.
- If a thicker sauce is desired, mix cornstarch with a tablespoon of water to create a slurry and stir into the sauce.
- Simmer for 2-3 more minutes, stirring constantly until slightly thickened.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving or storing.
Notes
- Adjust sriracha amount to control spice level.
- Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to one week.
- Great as a dipping sauce for spring rolls or a glaze for tofu.
