Description

These Cream Cheese Sausage Balls are a creamy, flavorful twist on the classic recipe. Made with breakfast sausage, cream cheese, and a blend of cheese and biscuit mix, they’re the perfect appetizer for parties, game days, or holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb breakfast sausage (mild, hot, or your preferred variety)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/4 cups Bisquick mix (or other biscuit baking mix)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Mixture:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sausage and cream cheese. Mix well until fully combined.
  3. Add the cheddar cheese, Bisquick mix, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Mix until a uniform dough forms.

Shape the Sausage Balls:

  1. Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions of the mixture and roll into balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them slightly apart.

Bake the Sausage Balls:

  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.

Serve:

  1. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces, such as ranch dressing, honey mustard, or spicy aioli.

Notes

  • Make Ahead: You can prepare the sausage balls in advance and freeze them uncooked. Bake directly from frozen, adding an extra 5 minutes to the cook time.
  • Customizations: Add chopped green onions, diced jalapeños, or shredded pepper jack cheese for extra flavor.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or air fryer for best results.
