Ingredients
2 cups of crispy rice cereal (like Rice Krispies)
1 cup chocolate chips (dark, milk, or semi-sweet, depending on your preference)
1/2 cup peanut butter (smooth or crunchy)
1/4 cup honey or maple syrup (for a vegan version, use maple syrup)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
A pinch of salt (optional, enhances flavor)
Instructions
Prepare Pan: Line an 8×8 inch (20×20 cm) square baking dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.
Melt Ingredients: In a medium saucepan or microwave-safe bowl, gently melt the chocolate chips, peanut butter, and honey/maple syrup together. Stir often to avoid burning, especially if using a microwave.
Add Vanilla and Salt: Once melted and smooth, remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.
Mix with Cereal: Add the crispy rice cereal to the melted mixture. Gently fold the cereal into the mixture until it’s completely coated.
Transfer to Pan: Pour the mixture into the prepared pan. Use a spatula or the back of a spoon to spread and press down evenly.
Chill: Place the pan in the refrigerator and chill for at least 1-2 hours, or until the mixture is firm.
Cut and Serve: Once chilled and firm, lift the mixture out of the pan using the overhanging parchment paper. Cut into bars or squares.
Storage: Store your no bake crunch bars in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
Enjoy your homemade no bake crunch bars as a delightful snack or treat! They’re great for satisfying a sweet tooth without the need for baking.
