Description
A potent tropical cocktail made with a mix of rums, fruit juices, and a splash of grenadine, the Zombie is a tiki classic that’s both flavorful and strong.

- 1 1/2 oz light rum
- 1 1/2 oz dark rum
- 1 oz overproof rum (for float)
- 1 oz lime juice (freshly squeezed)
- 1 oz pineapple juice
- 1 oz papaya juice (or passion fruit juice)
- 1/2 oz apricot brandy
- 1/2 oz grenadine
- 1 dash Angostura bitters
- 1/2 oz simple syrup
- Crushed ice
- Pineapple wedge and mint sprig, for garnish
Instructions
- Fill a cocktail shaker with crushed ice.
- Add the light rum, dark rum, lime juice, pineapple juice, papaya juice, apricot brandy, grenadine, bitters, and simple syrup.
- Shake vigorously until well chilled.
- Pour the contents (including ice) into a tall tiki glass or highball glass.
- Float the overproof rum on top by gently pouring over the back of a spoon.
- Garnish with a pineapple wedge and a sprig of mint.
- Serve with a straw and enjoy responsibly.
Notes
- This cocktail is very strong; consume with caution.
- Substitute papaya juice with passion fruit juice if unavailable.
- Adjust grenadine and syrup for sweetness preference.
