Description

A fun, kid‑friendly dessert featuring layers of chocolate pudding, crunchy chocolate crumbs, gummy worms—and served in cups or a flower pot for a playful twist.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 (3.4 oz) boxes instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 3 cups cold milk
  • 1 (16 oz) bag chocolate sandwich cookies (like Oreos), crushed
  • 1 stick (4 oz) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 (8 oz) bag gummy worms

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together pudding mix and cold milk for about 2 minutes until smooth. Refrigerate at least 5 minutes to set.
  2. Meanwhile, pulse cookies in a food processor or place in a zip‑top bag and crush into fine crumbs.
  3. Combine cookie crumbs and melted butter in a bowl, tossing until evenly coated and sandy.
  4. Layer dessert: spoon a few tablespoons of pudding into cups or small pots, top with a layer of cookie crumb ‘dirt’. Repeat until containers are nearly full.
  5. Push gummy worms partway into the top dirt layer so they look like they’re burrowing out.
  6. Refrigerate at least 30 minutes before serving—or serve immediately for softer “dirt.”

Notes

  • For extra crunch, press the crumb mixture into the bottom of each cup before adding pudding.
  • Use vanilla pudding instead of chocolate for a lighter flavor variation.
  • Serve in small terra‑cotta pots with liners for a real garden effect.
  • Kids love helping assemble—setup a pudding station for a fun activity.
  • Assembled desserts will keep in the fridge up to 2 days; gummy worms may soften over time.
