Ingredients
Units
Scale
- 2 (3.4 oz) boxes instant chocolate pudding mix
- 3 cups cold milk
- 1 (16 oz) bag chocolate sandwich cookies (like Oreos), crushed
- 1 stick (4 oz) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 (8 oz) bag gummy worms
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together pudding mix and cold milk for about 2 minutes until smooth. Refrigerate at least 5 minutes to set.
- Meanwhile, pulse cookies in a food processor or place in a zip‑top bag and crush into fine crumbs.
- Combine cookie crumbs and melted butter in a bowl, tossing until evenly coated and sandy.
- Layer dessert: spoon a few tablespoons of pudding into cups or small pots, top with a layer of cookie crumb ‘dirt’. Repeat until containers are nearly full.
- Push gummy worms partway into the top dirt layer so they look like they’re burrowing out.
- Refrigerate at least 30 minutes before serving—or serve immediately for softer “dirt.”
Notes
- For extra crunch, press the crumb mixture into the bottom of each cup before adding pudding.
- Use vanilla pudding instead of chocolate for a lighter flavor variation.
- Serve in small terra‑cotta pots with liners for a real garden effect.
- Kids love helping assemble—setup a pudding station for a fun activity.
- Assembled desserts will keep in the fridge up to 2 days; gummy worms may soften over time.
