Description

A Tuna Melt Wrap is a quick and satisfying meal that combines creamy tuna salad with melted cheese, all wrapped in a soft tortilla. Perfect for lunch or dinner, this versatile recipe is a comforting twist on the classic tuna melt sandwich.

Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Tuna Salad:

  • 1 can (5 oz/140 g) tuna, drained
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise (or Greek yogurt for a lighter option)
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped red onion or green onion
  • 1 tablespoon chopped celery (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

For the Wrap:

  • 2 large flour tortillas
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a blend)
  • 1 small tomato, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh spinach or arugula leaves (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil or butter (for grilling)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Tuna Salad:
    • In a bowl, mix the tuna, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, red onion, and celery (if using). Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  2. Assemble the Wraps:
    • Lay each tortilla flat on a clean surface.
    • Spread half of the tuna salad onto the center of each tortilla.
    • Top with shredded cheese, a few slices of tomato, and spinach or arugula if desired.
    • Fold in the sides of the tortilla, then roll it up tightly like a burrito.
  3. Grill the Wraps:
    • Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
    • Place the wraps seam-side down in the skillet. Cook for 2–3 minutes on each side, pressing gently with a spatula, until the tortilla is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  4. Serve and Enjoy:
    • Slice the wraps in half and serve warm. Pair with a side of salad, soup, or chips for a complete meal.

Notes

  • Add extra flavor with a pinch of dried herbs like dill or parsley.
  • For a spicier kick, mix a dash of hot sauce or chili flakes into the tuna salad.
  • Wraps can be prepared ahead and stored in the refrigerator. Grill them just before serving.
