2 cups elbow macaroni
2 cups whole milk (or substitute with heavy cream for extra creaminess)
1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tbsp unsalted butter
Salt and pepper, to taste
1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional, for added flavor)
1/2 tsp mustard powder (optional, for a hint of tang)
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
Cook the Macaroni:
In a medium saucepan, combine the macaroni and milk over medium heat.
Bring to a gentle simmer, stirring frequently to prevent sticking, and cook until the pasta is tender and the milk is mostly absorbed (about 8-10 minutes). Do not drain.
Add the Cheese and Butter:
Lower the heat to low and add the cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese to the pasta. Add the butter, garlic powder, and mustard powder, if using.
Stir continuously until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is creamy and smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve:
Spoon the mac and cheese into bowls, garnish with chopped parsley if desired, and serve immediately.
Notes
For extra creaminess, add an additional splash of milk or heavy cream at the end.
