Description
These easy pigs in a blanket are a classic party snack made with just two main ingredients: cocktail sausages and puff pastry. They’re quick to assemble, kid-friendly, and always a crowd-pleaser.

- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 12 cocktail sausages (mini hot dogs or lil’ smokies)
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds or poppy seeds (optional, for topping)
- All-purpose flour, for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Lightly flour your surface and roll out puff pastry slightly to smooth the seams.
- Cut the puff pastry into 12 strips, approximately 1 inch wide.
- Wrap each cocktail sausage in a strip of pastry, sealing the ends.
- Place wrapped sausages seam-side down on the baking sheet.
- Brush tops with egg wash and sprinkle with sesame or poppy seeds if using.
- Bake for 15–18 minutes or until golden and puffed.
- Cool slightly and serve with mustard or ketchup for dipping.
Notes
- Can be prepared ahead and stored in the fridge until ready to bake.
- Serve with a variety of dipping sauces like honey mustard or barbecue sauce.
- Substitute with turkey or chicken sausages for a lighter version.
