Description

Thai Basil Beef Noodles is a quick and flavorful stir-fry dish featuring savory ground beef, tender noodles, and aromatic Thai basil in a sweet and spicy sauce.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 8 oz rice noodles or lo mein noodles
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 2 cups Thai basil leaves (or regular basil if unavailable)
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 12 tsp chili garlic sauce or sriracha (to taste)
  • Juice of 1/2 lime (optional)
  • Green onions and sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet or wok, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add garlic and onion, and sauté for 2 minutes.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned and cooked through, breaking it up as it cooks.
  4. Stir in bell pepper and cook for another 2–3 minutes until slightly softened.
  5. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, brown sugar, and chili garlic sauce. Pour over beef and stir well to coat.
  6. Add cooked noodles and Thai basil. Toss everything together and stir-fry for 1–2 more minutes until basil is wilted and everything is well combined.
  7. Finish with a squeeze of lime juice if using. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
  8. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Substitute ground chicken or turkey for a lighter version.
  • If Thai basil is unavailable, regular basil works with slightly less intensity.
  • Adjust spice level by increasing or reducing chili sauce.
