Description

Texas Firecrackers are a zesty and crunchy snack made by marinating saltine crackers in a bold, spicy seasoning blend. These addictive crackers are perfect for parties, game days, or whenever you need a flavorful snack with a kick!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 box (16 ounces) saltine crackers (about 4 sleeves)
  • 1 cup canola or vegetable oil
  • 1 packet (1 ounce) ranch dressing mix
  • 2 tablespoons red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 teaspoon dried dill (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Marinade:
In a large bowl or a measuring cup, whisk together the oil, ranch dressing mix, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried dill until well combined.

  2. Coat the Crackers:
Place the saltine crackers in a large, gallon-sized resealable plastic bag. Pour the seasoning mixture over the crackers. Seal the bag tightly.

  3. Marinate:
Gently turn the bag over and over to ensure all the crackers are evenly coated. Let the crackers marinate for at least 4 hours or overnight for maximum flavor. Turn the bag every 30 minutes to distribute the marinade evenly.

  4. Serve:
Once the crackers have absorbed the seasoning, transfer them to a serving bowl and enjoy!

Notes

  • Store the crackers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.
  • For extra heat, add 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper to the seasoning mix.
  • These crackers pair wonderfully with cheese dips, pimento cheese, or even chili.
