Description

This Sweet and Salty Popcorn Snack Mix is the ultimate party treat! Made with freshly popped popcorn, pretzels, chocolate candies, and a light caramel glaze, it’s an irresistible combo of flavors and textures. Perfect for movie nights, road trips, holiday gifting, or anytime snacking!

Ingredients

  • 8 cups popped popcorn (plain or lightly salted)

  • 2 cups mini pretzels

  • 1 cup chocolate candies (like M&M’s)

  • 1 cup dry-roasted peanuts or sunflower seeds (optional for nut-free alternative)

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter

  • 2 tablespoons corn syrup or honey

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • Optional: 1/2 cup white chocolate chips or drizzle

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.

  2. Mix the dry ingredients:
In a large mixing bowl, combine popcorn, pretzels, peanuts (or sunflower seeds), and chocolate candies. Set aside.

  3. Make the caramel glaze:
In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter, brown sugar, and corn syrup together. Stir constantly until mixture comes to a simmer. Let simmer for 2–3 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and salt.

  4. Coat the mix:
Pour the warm caramel mixture over the popcorn mix and toss gently until everything is evenly coated. Work quickly!

  5. Bake:
Spread the coated mix onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 15–20 minutes, stirring once halfway through, until the mix is lightly golden and crisp.

  6. Cool and finish:
Let cool completely. If desired, melt white chocolate and drizzle over the top. Once set, break into chunks and serve or store.

Notes

  • Make it nut-free by using sunflower or pumpkin seeds instead of peanuts.

  • Customize with mini marshmallows, toffee bits, or cereal for more variety.

  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.
