Description

This Cinnamon-Sugar Pizza is a sweet twist on a classic favorite! With a buttery base, a crunchy cinnamon-sugar topping, and a drizzle of icing, this dessert pizza is a simple and delightful treat perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Pizza Base:

  • 1 pre-made pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

For the Topping:

  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

For the Icing:

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 12 tbsp milk
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Prepare the Pizza Base:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet or pizza stone with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the pizza dough to your desired size and thickness, then transfer it to the prepared sheet.

2. Add the Topping:

  1. Brush the melted butter evenly over the surface of the pizza dough.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the granulated sugar, cinnamon, and brown sugar.
  3. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture generously over the buttered dough, covering it evenly.

3. Bake the Pizza:

  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the sugar topping is bubbly.

4. Prepare the Icing:

  1. While the pizza bakes, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl until smooth. Adjust the milk to achieve a drizzle-able consistency.

5. Add the Finishing Touch:

  1. Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for 5 minutes.
  2. Drizzle the icing over the pizza in zigzag patterns using a spoon or piping bag.

6. Serve:

  1. Slice into wedges and serve warm for the best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Add Crunch: Sprinkle chopped pecans, almonds, or walnuts over the cinnamon-sugar topping before baking.
  • Fruit Variation: Top with thinly sliced apples or pears before adding the cinnamon-sugar mixture for a fruity twist.
  • Make Ahead: Prepare the icing in advance and store it in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
