Description
Surf and Turf Steak and Lobster Tails is a luxurious dinner pairing juicy seared steak with buttery broiled lobster tails, perfect for special occasions or a romantic meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 filet mignon or ribeye steaks (6–8 oz each)
- 2 lobster tails (6–8 oz each)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp fresh thyme or rosemary (optional)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Lemon wedges, for serving
Instructions
- Preheat oven broiler for the lobster tails and let steaks come to room temperature.
- Prepare lobster tails by cutting down the center of the shell and gently pulling the meat above the shell, keeping it attached at the base.
- Mix melted butter with garlic, lemon juice, paprika, and a pinch of salt. Brush over lobster meat.
- Broil lobster tails on a baking sheet for 8–10 minutes or until opaque and slightly browned on top.
- Meanwhile, season steaks generously with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear steaks for 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare, adjusting time to desired doneness. Add herbs and a tablespoon of butter to the pan during the last minute of cooking to baste the steaks.
- Let steaks rest for 5 minutes.
- Serve steaks with broiled lobster tails and lemon wedges on the side.
Notes
- Use a meat thermometer for accuracy: 130°F for medium-rare steak.
- For extra flavor, top lobster with garlic herb butter right before serving.
- Serve with mashed potatoes or asparagus for a complete meal.
