Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pint (500 g) fresh strawberries
- 1/2 cup (115 g) cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup (30 g) powdered sugar, sifted
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Mini chocolate chips (for eyes)
Instructions
1. Prepare the strawberries
- Wash and dry the strawberries. Remove the green stems.
- Slice off the top third of each strawberry to create the “Santa hat.”
2. Make the cream filling
- In a small bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Transfer the mixture to a piping bag or a zip-top bag with the tip snipped off.
3. Assemble the Santas
- Pipe a dollop of cream onto the bottom portion of each strawberry to create Santa’s “body.”
- Place the strawberry top (hat) back on, slightly tilted if desired. Pipe a small dot of cream on the tip of the “hat” for the pom-pom.
- Add mini chocolate chips for Santa’s eyes, gently pressing them into the cream filling.
4. Serve
- Arrange the Santas on a platter and serve immediately, or refrigerate until ready to enjoy.
Notes
- Storage: Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Serve chilled.
- Make-ahead tip: Prepare the filling in advance and assemble the Santas just before serving for maximum freshness.
- Variations: Use whipped cream or mascarpone instead of cream cheese for a lighter texture.
