Description

This Strawberry Lemon Drop Martini is a refreshing and vibrant cocktail combining the sweet juiciness of strawberries with the tangy punch of fresh lemon juice. Perfect for a summer evening or any celebration, this martini is both elegant and delicious.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 large fresh strawberries, hulled (plus extra for garnish)
  • 2 oz (60 ml) vodka (plain or strawberry-flavored)
  • 1 oz (30 ml) freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 oz (30 ml) simple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • Ice cubes
  • Sugar, for rimming the glass (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Glass:
    • If desired, rim a martini glass with sugar. To do this, rub a lemon wedge around the edge of the glass and dip it into a shallow dish of sugar. Set aside.
  2. Muddle the Strawberries:
    • In a cocktail shaker, muddle the fresh strawberries until they’re thoroughly mashed and release their juices.
  3. Mix the Drink:
    • Add the vodka, lemon juice, simple syrup, and a handful of ice to the shaker. Shake vigorously for 20-30 seconds to combine and chill the ingredients.
  4. Strain and Serve:
    • Strain the mixture into the prepared martini glass, using a fine mesh strainer to catch the strawberry pulp if desired.
  5. Garnish:
    • Garnish with a fresh strawberry or a lemon twist for a festive touch. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Simple Syrup: To make simple syrup, combine equal parts sugar and water in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves, then let cool before using.
  • Flavor Variations: Add a splash of sparkling water for a fizzy twist or replace plain vodka with citrus vodka for extra zing.
  • Non-Alcoholic Option: Replace the vodka with sparkling lemonade for a mocktail version.
