Description

This Strawberry Hot Chocolate is a creamy, indulgent twist on the classic hot chocolate. Made with real strawberries and white chocolate, it’s perfect for cozy nights, Valentine’s Day, or any time you want a fruity and decadent treat.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh or frozen strawberries
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar (or more, to taste)
  • 2 cups milk (dairy or non-dairy, such as almond or oat milk)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (optional, for extra creaminess)
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips or chopped white chocolate
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

For Garnish (Optional):

  • Whipped cream
  • Fresh strawberry slices
  • White chocolate shavings

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Strawberry Puree:
    • In a blender, blend the strawberries and sugar until smooth. Strain the puree through a fine mesh sieve to remove seeds. Set aside.
  2. Heat the Milk:
    • In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the milk and heavy cream (if using). Heat until warm but not boiling, stirring occasionally.
  3. Add the White Chocolate:
    • Stir in the white chocolate and whisk until fully melted and smooth.
  4. Incorporate the Strawberry Puree:
    • Add the strawberry puree to the saucepan and whisk until combined. Heat for another 2–3 minutes, but do not let it boil. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Serve:
    • Pour the strawberry hot chocolate into mugs. Top with whipped cream, fresh strawberry slices, or white chocolate shavings for a festive touch.

Notes

  • For a dairy-free version, use non-dairy milk and omit the heavy cream, or use coconut cream.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more sugar or white chocolate to taste.
  • You can substitute fresh strawberries with strawberry jam (about 3 tbsp) for a quicker version.
