Units
Scale
- 1 1/2 cups fresh or frozen strawberries
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar (or more, to taste)
- 2 cups milk (dairy or non-dairy, such as almond or oat milk)
- 1/2 cup heavy cream (optional, for extra creaminess)
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips or chopped white chocolate
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
For Garnish (Optional):
- Whipped cream
- Fresh strawberry slices
- White chocolate shavings
Instructions
- Prepare the Strawberry Puree:
- In a blender, blend the strawberries and sugar until smooth. Strain the puree through a fine mesh sieve to remove seeds. Set aside.
- Heat the Milk:
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the milk and heavy cream (if using). Heat until warm but not boiling, stirring occasionally.
- Add the White Chocolate:
- Stir in the white chocolate and whisk until fully melted and smooth.
- Incorporate the Strawberry Puree:
- Add the strawberry puree to the saucepan and whisk until combined. Heat for another 2–3 minutes, but do not let it boil. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Serve:
- Pour the strawberry hot chocolate into mugs. Top with whipped cream, fresh strawberry slices, or white chocolate shavings for a festive touch.
Notes
- For a dairy-free version, use non-dairy milk and omit the heavy cream, or use coconut cream.
- Adjust the sweetness by adding more sugar or white chocolate to taste.
- You can substitute fresh strawberries with strawberry jam (about 3 tbsp) for a quicker version.
