- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 4 oz (113g) cream cheese, softened
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1 tbsp strawberry jam (optional)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tsp water
- Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Unroll the puff pastry and cut into 4-6 equal squares or rectangles.
- Spoon a dollop of the cream cheese mixture into the center of each square and top with sliced strawberries. Add a small amount of strawberry jam if using.
- Fold the corners of the pastry over the filling or leave open-faced. Press gently to secure if folding.
- Beat egg with water to make egg wash. Brush the edges of each danish.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes or until pastry is golden and puffed.
- Let cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar before serving, if desired.

- Ensure puff pastry is fully thawed before using.
- Substitute strawberries with other berries or stone fruits.
- For extra flavor, add a touch of lemon zest to the cream cheese filling.
- Best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days.
