- 10 full-size graham crackers
- 1 cup (2 sticks) salted butter
- 1 cup packed light brown sugar
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 cups mini marshmallows
Instructions
- Prepare the Baking Sheet:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a 9×13-inch baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil, ensuring it covers the sides for easy cleanup.
- Arrange the graham crackers in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, breaking them as needed to fit and cover the entire bottom.
- Make the Toffee Layer:
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and brown sugar together, stirring constantly until the mixture reaches a rolling boil.
- Once boiling, continue to cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently, until the mixture thickens slightly and becomes a rich caramel color.
- Assemble and Bake:
- Carefully pour the hot toffee mixture over the graham crackers, spreading it evenly with a spatula to cover all the crackers.
- Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 5-7 minutes, or until the toffee layer is bubbling.
- Add Chocolate and Marshmallows:
- Remove the baking sheet from the oven and immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the hot toffee layer.
- Allow the chocolate to sit for 1-2 minutes to melt, then use a spatula to spread it into an even layer.
- Sprinkle the mini marshmallows evenly over the melted chocolate.
- Toast the Marshmallows:
- Set your oven to broil.
- Place the baking sheet back in the oven for 1-2 minutes, watching closely, until the marshmallows are golden brown and toasted. Be careful not to let them burn.
- Cool and Serve:
- Remove from the oven and let the S’mores Crack cool completely in the pan.
- Once cooled and set, break it into pieces and serve.
Notes
- Storage: Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
- Variations: For added flavor, consider sprinkling chopped nuts or drizzling melted white chocolate over the top before the marshmallows are added.
- Safety Tip: The toffee mixture is extremely hot; handle with care to avoid burns.
