Description

This Slow Cooker Hot Chocolate is luxuriously rich, creamy, and incredibly easy to make. Perfect for holiday gatherings, cold winter nights, or special occasions, it’s a comforting treat the whole family will love.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 6 cups whole milk (or your preferred milk)
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Optional Toppings:

  • Whipped cream
  • Mini marshmallows
  • Chocolate shavings
  • Crushed candy canes
  • Caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients:
    • Add the heavy cream, milk, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, chocolate chips, and salt into a 6-quart slow cooker. Stir to combine.
  2. Cook:
    • Cover and cook on low for 2–3 hours, stirring every 30 minutes to ensure the chocolate melts evenly and doesn’t stick to the bottom.
  3. Serve:
    • Once the chocolate is fully melted and the mixture is smooth, ladle into mugs and top with your favorite garnishes.
  4. Keep Warm (Optional):
    • Set the slow cooker to the “keep warm” setting to serve over a longer period. Stir occasionally to maintain a creamy consistency.

Notes

  • Make it festive: Add a splash of peppermint extract for a holiday twist or cinnamon for a cozy, spiced flavor.
  • Dairy-free option: Use coconut milk, almond milk, or oat milk, and dairy-free chocolate chips.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated on the stovetop.
