Ingredients
Units
Scale
- 1 fully cooked bone-in ham, 6-8 lbs
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/2 cup pineapple juice (or orange juice)
- 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves (optional, for extra warmth)
- Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Place the ham in the slow cooker, flat side down. If it doesn’t fit, trim off a bit from the bottom to fit snugly.
- In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, honey, pineapple juice, Dijon mustard, and ground cloves (if using). Stir until smooth.
- Pour half of the glaze mixture over the ham, brushing or spreading it to cover.
- Cover and cook on Low for 4–5 hours, or until heated through. Baste the ham with the remaining glaze every 1–2 hours if possible.
- When done, transfer the ham to a serving platter. For a thicker glaze, transfer the remaining liquid from the slow cooker to a saucepan. Simmer over medium heat until it thickens, about 5–10 minutes, then pour over the ham before serving.
- Garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve warm.
Notes
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
- For a crispier, caramelized top, place the cooked ham under the broiler for 3–5 minutes after slow cooking.
- This recipe works well with spiral-cut or unsliced ham.
