Description

This Slow Cooker Ham with Brown Sugar Honey Glaze is a classic holiday dish made easy. The ham slow cooks to tender perfection and is coated with a sweet and tangy glaze that caramelizes beautifully. With only a few ingredients and minimal effort, this delicious ham is perfect for festive occasions or cozy family dinners.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 fully cooked bone-in ham, 6-8 lbs
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup pineapple juice (or orange juice)
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves (optional, for extra warmth)
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place the ham in the slow cooker, flat side down. If it doesn’t fit, trim off a bit from the bottom to fit snugly.
  2. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, honey, pineapple juice, Dijon mustard, and ground cloves (if using). Stir until smooth.
  3. Pour half of the glaze mixture over the ham, brushing or spreading it to cover.
  4. Cover and cook on Low for 4–5 hours, or until heated through. Baste the ham with the remaining glaze every 1–2 hours if possible.
  5. When done, transfer the ham to a serving platter. For a thicker glaze, transfer the remaining liquid from the slow cooker to a saucepan. Simmer over medium heat until it thickens, about 5–10 minutes, then pour over the ham before serving.
  6. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
  • For a crispier, caramelized top, place the cooked ham under the broiler for 3–5 minutes after slow cooking.
  • This recipe works well with spiral-cut or unsliced ham.
