Description

This Slow Cooker Crack Chicken is a rich and creamy combination of tender shredded chicken, cream cheese, ranch seasoning, bacon, and cheddar cheese. It’s an easy, crowd-pleasing recipe that’s perfect for busy weeknights, meal prep, or game-day gatherings.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 lbs (900g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 (8 oz) blocks cream cheese, softened
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix (or 3 tablespoons homemade ranch seasoning)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 8 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken:

    • Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of a slow cooker.
    • Sprinkle the ranch seasoning and garlic powder (if using) over the chicken.
    • Top with the blocks of cream cheese.
  2. Cook:

    • Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is fully cooked and tender.
  3. Shred the Chicken:

    • Shred the cooked chicken directly in the slow cooker using two forks.
    • Stir the cream cheese and chicken together until well combined and creamy.
  4. Add Cheese & Bacon:

    • Mix in shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon.
    • Cover and cook for another 10-15 minutes until the cheese melts.
  5. Serve:

    • Garnish with chopped green onions and parsley.
    • Serve on buns, over rice, in lettuce wraps, or as a dip with crackers.

Notes

  • Use pre-cooked rotisserie chicken for a quicker version (reduce cooking time).
  • Swap cheddar for mozzarella or pepper jack for a spicier twist.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
