Description

These Slow Cooker Candied Nuts are a sweet, crunchy treat that’s perfect for holiday gifts, party snacks, or just a delicious indulgence. Made with a blend of warm spices and a touch of vanilla, they’re irresistibly addictive and super easy to make in your slow cooker!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 4 cups mixed nuts (pecans, almonds, cashews, or your favorites)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 egg white
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

1. Prepare the Egg Mixture:

  1. In a large bowl, whisk the egg white and vanilla extract until frothy.
  2. Add the nuts to the bowl and toss to coat them evenly in the egg mixture.

2. Mix the Spices and Sugars:

  1. In a separate bowl, combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg (if using), and salt.
  2. Pour the sugar mixture over the nuts and toss until all the nuts are evenly coated.

3. Cook in the Slow Cooker:

  1. Lightly grease the inside of your slow cooker with non-stick spray.
  2. Add the coated nuts to the slow cooker and spread them out evenly.
  3. Cook on low for 3 hours, stirring every 30 minutes to ensure even cooking and prevent sticking.

4. Add the Final Touch:

  1. In the last 30 minutes of cooking, pour in the 1/4 cup of water and stir well. This will help create a crunchy, candied coating on the nuts.

5. Cool and Serve:

  1. Once the nuts are done, spread them out on a parchment-lined baking sheet to cool completely.
  2. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

  • Nut Selection: Use raw nuts for best results, as roasted nuts may overcook in the slow cooker.
  • Spicy Variation: Add a pinch of cayenne pepper for a sweet-and-spicy twist.
  • Gifting Idea: Package the nuts in festive jars or bags for an easy homemade gift.
