- 1 green bell pepper, diced

- 1 cup (240ml) ketchup
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp yellow mustard
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
For the Casserole:
- 1 can (16 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough, cut into quarters
- 2 cups (200g) shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup (15g) chopped fresh parsley (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cook the Sloppy Joe Filling:
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Add the diced onion, green bell pepper, and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for another 4-5 minutes, or until the vegetables are softened.
- Stir in the ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to blend.
Assemble the Casserole:
- Transfer the sloppy joe mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Scatter the biscuit dough quarters evenly over the top of the sloppy joe mixture.
Add Cheese:
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the biscuits.
Bake:
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
