Description

Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, these shrimp balls are a delicious appetizer or snack, perfect for dipping in your favorite sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp ground white pepper
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Finely chop the shrimp or pulse in a food processor until a chunky paste forms.
  2. In a bowl, combine shrimp, green onions, garlic, egg, breadcrumbs, soy sauce, sesame oil, white pepper, salt, and cornstarch. Mix well.
  3. Shape the mixture into small balls using your hands or a scoop.
  4. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry the shrimp balls in batches for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Drain on paper towels and serve hot with dipping sauce of choice.

Notes

  • You can make the shrimp mixture ahead and refrigerate for up to 24 hours before frying.
  • Try adding minced water chestnuts for extra crunch.
  • Serve with sweet chili sauce or spicy mayo for dipping.
