Description

This quick and flavorful stir-fry combines tender-crisp broccoli and savory mushrooms, all tossed in a garlic-infused soy sauce. It’s a perfect vegetarian side dish or can be served over rice or noodles for a light meal!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or sesame oil
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 1/2 cups mushrooms, sliced (button, cremini, or shiitake)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 1 tsp oyster sauce (optional, for depth of flavor)
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tbsp water (for steaming)
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds (for garnish, optional)
  • 1/2 tsp rice vinegar (optional, for a tangy kick)

Instructions

1. Heat the Oil & Cook the Mushrooms

  1. Heat olive oil or sesame oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Add mushrooms and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they release moisture and become golden brown.

2. Add the Broccoli & Garlic

  1. Add broccoli florets to the pan and stir well.
  2. Pour in 1 tbsp of water, cover, and let steam for 2 minutes until slightly tender.
  3. Remove the lid, add minced garlic, and cook for 1 more minute, stirring frequently.

3. Season & Stir-Fry

  1. Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce (if using), red pepper flakes, and black pepper.
  2. Toss everything together and stir-fry for another 2 minutes until the broccoli is crisp-tender.

4. Serve & Enjoy

  • Drizzle with rice vinegar for extra flavor.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds and serve hot!
  • Pair with steamed rice, noodles, or tofu for a complete meal.

Notes

  • Make it spicy: Add sriracha or chili oil for extra heat.
  • For more protein: Add tofu, shrimp, or chicken.
  • Meal prep tip: Stays fresh in the fridge for 3-4 days—just reheat in a pan!
