Description
Sausage Queso Dip is a creamy, cheesy party favorite made with savory sausage, melty cheese, and a touch of spice. Perfect for dipping tortilla chips, veggies, or even drizzling over nachos.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground pork sausage
- 1 (10 oz) can diced tomatoes with green chilies (e.g., Rotel), undrained
- 1 (8 oz) block cream cheese, cubed
- 1 (16 oz) block processed cheese (e.g., Velveeta), cubed
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp chili powder (optional for extra heat)
- Chopped green onions or cilantro for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook sausage until browned and crumbled. Drain excess grease.
- Add the diced tomatoes with green chilies, cream cheese, and processed cheese to the skillet with the sausage.
- Reduce heat to low and stir frequently until the cheeses are fully melted and the mixture is smooth.
- Stir in garlic powder and chili powder if using. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
- Transfer to a serving bowl or slow cooker on warm to keep it hot. Garnish with green onions or cilantro if desired.
- Serve warm with tortilla chips, crackers, or cut vegetables.
Notes
- Use hot sausage for a spicier dip, or mild for a more kid-friendly version.
- Keep warm in a slow cooker for serving at parties or game day.
- Leftovers can be reheated and served over baked potatoes or pasta.
