Description

These sausage cream cheese crescents are a quick, delicious appetizer or snack. Flaky crescent rolls are stuffed with a savory sausage and cream cheese filling, making them the perfect bite-sized treat for parties, game days, or family gatherings.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 pound (450 g) breakfast sausage (mild, spicy, or flavored)
  • 8 ounces (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 2 packages (8 oz each) crescent roll dough
  • 1/2 cup (50 g) shredded cheddar cheese (optional, for extra flavor)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Cook the sausage:

    • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and fully cooked, breaking it up into crumbles. Drain any excess grease and let cool slightly.
  2. Prepare the filling:

    • In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked sausage, softened cream cheese, cheddar cheese (if using), garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Assemble the crescents:

    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
    • Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate into triangles. Place a tablespoon of the sausage mixture at the wide end of each triangle. Roll up the dough from the wide end to the narrow tip, enclosing the filling.
  4. Bake:

    • Place the crescent rolls seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown and flaky.
  5. Serve:

    • Let the crescents cool slightly before serving. Enjoy them warm as an appetizer, snack, or breakfast treat.

Notes

  • Substitute the breakfast sausage with turkey sausage or plant-based sausage for dietary preferences.
  • For added flair, brush the tops of the crescents with melted butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds or grated Parmesan before baking.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven or air fryer.
