Description

This cheerful holiday drink is a festive twist on the classic Shirley Temple, complete with a cherry “Santa hat” garnish. Perfect for kids and adults alike, this mocktail is fizzy, sweet, and full of holiday spirit!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) lemon-lime soda (like Sprite or 7Up)
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) grenadine
  • 1 maraschino cherry (for garnish)
  • Whipped cream (for the “hat”)
  • Ice cubes
  • Red sugar or sprinkles (optional, for decorating the rim)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Glass:
    • If desired, rim the glass with red sugar or sprinkles. To do this, dip the rim of the glass in grenadine, then into the sugar or sprinkles.
  • Assemble the Drink:
    • Fill the glass with ice cubes. Pour in the grenadine, followed by the lemon-lime soda. Stir gently to combine.
  • Make the “Santa Hat” Garnish:
    • Place a dollop of whipped cream on top of the maraschino cherry to create a “hat.” Carefully set it on the rim of the glass or float it in the drink.
  • Serve:
    • Serve immediately with a festive straw or stir stick. Enjoy the cheerful holiday vibes!

Notes

  • For a fancier presentation, use sparkling water or ginger ale in place of lemon-lime soda.
  • Add a splash of orange juice for a citrusy twist.
  • For an adult version, add a shot of vodka or rum.
