Description
Red, White & Blue Marble Cake is a festive and visually stunning dessert featuring swirls of patriotic colors in a moist vanilla cake, perfect for the 4th of July and other national celebrations.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box white cake mix (plus ingredients listed on the box)
- Red and blue food coloring
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping or vanilla frosting
- Red, white, and blue sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch cake pan.
- Prepare the white cake mix according to package instructions. Stir in vanilla extract for added flavor.
- Divide the batter evenly into three bowls. Tint one bowl red and one bowl blue using food coloring. Leave one bowl plain (white).
- Spoon dollops of each colored batter into the prepared pan, alternating colors randomly.
- Use a knife to gently swirl the batters together to create a marbled effect—do not overmix.
- Bake according to the cake mix package instructions (usually 28–32 minutes), or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool completely before frosting with whipped topping or vanilla frosting.
- Decorate with red, white, and blue sprinkles if desired.
Notes
- Use gel food coloring for more vibrant colors without thinning the batter.
- Make cupcakes instead for individual servings—adjust baking time accordingly.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
