Description

Red, White, and Blue Fourth of July Cake is a festive and patriotic layered dessert with vibrant colored cake layers, whipped frosting, and themed decorations—perfect for Independence Day celebrations.


Ingredients

  • 1 box white cake mix (plus ingredients on the box)
  • Red and blue food coloring
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tub (16 oz) whipped topping or vanilla frosting
  • Red, white, and blue sprinkles
  • Optional: fresh strawberries and blueberries for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease three 8-inch round cake pans or line with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare white cake mix according to package instructions and stir in vanilla extract.
  3. Divide batter evenly into three bowls. Tint one red, one blue, and leave the third white.
  4. Pour each colored batter into its own prepared pan and bake for 18–22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  5. Let cakes cool completely, then level the tops if needed.
  6. Layer cakes red, white, and blue with a thin layer of frosting or whipped topping between each layer.
  7. Frost the outside of the cake and decorate with sprinkles and berries if using.
