Red, White, and Blue Fourth of July Cake is a festive and patriotic layered dessert with vibrant colored cake layers, whipped frosting, and themed decorations—perfect for Independence Day celebrations.

- 1 box white cake mix (plus ingredients on the box)
- Red and blue food coloring
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tub (16 oz) whipped topping or vanilla frosting
- Red, white, and blue sprinkles
- Optional: fresh strawberries and blueberries for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease three 8-inch round cake pans or line with parchment paper.
- Prepare white cake mix according to package instructions and stir in vanilla extract.
- Divide batter evenly into three bowls. Tint one red, one blue, and leave the third white.
- Pour each colored batter into its own prepared pan and bake for 18–22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cakes cool completely, then level the tops if needed.
- Layer cakes red, white, and blue with a thin layer of frosting or whipped topping between each layer.
- Frost the outside of the cake and decorate with sprinkles and berries if using.
- Refrigerate until ready to serve. Slice and enjoy!
Notes
- Use gel food coloring for more vibrant cake layers.
- For a richer frosting, substitute with homemade cream cheese or buttercream frosting.
- Make a day ahead and store covered in the fridge.
