Ingredients
-
1 box (15.25 oz) white cake mix
-
2 large eggs
-
1/3 cup vegetable oil
-
1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
-
1/2 cup red, white, and blue M&M’s or chocolate candies
-
1/4 cup red, white, and blue sprinkles
Instructions
-
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
In a large bowl, mix the cake mix, eggs, oil, and vanilla (if using) until a thick dough forms.
-
Gently fold in the red, white, and blue M&M’s and sprinkles.
-
Scoop out tablespoon-sized amounts of dough and place them on the prepared baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
-
Bake for 9–11 minutes, or until the edges are set and the tops no longer look wet.
-
Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
-
Don’t overbake—the cookies will continue to set as they cool.
-
You can use patriotic chocolate chips or other colored candies instead of M&M’s.
-
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
