Description

Red Velvet Cake Balls are bite-sized treats made by mixing crumbled red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting, then dipped in chocolate for a rich and festive dessert.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 box red velvet cake mix (plus ingredients listed on the box)
  • 1 cup cream cheese frosting (store-bought or homemade)
  • 12 oz white or dark chocolate melting wafers
  • Optional: sprinkles or crushed red velvet crumbs for decoration

Instructions

  1. Prepare and bake the red velvet cake according to the package instructions. Let it cool completely.
  2. Crumble the cooled cake into a large bowl using your hands or a fork.
  3. Add the cream cheese frosting and mix until fully combined and dough-like in texture.
  4. Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Chill the cake balls in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or in the freezer for 20–30 minutes.
  6. Melt the chocolate wafers according to package directions.
  7. Dip each cake ball into the melted chocolate, allowing excess to drip off. Place back on the parchment paper.
  8. Decorate with sprinkles or crushed cake crumbs before the chocolate sets.
  9. Let the cake balls set completely at room temperature or in the fridge before serving.

Notes

  • Use a cookie scoop for evenly sized cake balls.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
  • You can use white chocolate for a classic look or dark chocolate for a richer flavor.
