- 1 cup cream cheese frosting (store-bought or homemade)
- 12 oz white or dark chocolate melting wafers
- Optional: sprinkles or crushed red velvet crumbs for decoration
Instructions
- Prepare and bake the red velvet cake according to the package instructions. Let it cool completely.
- Crumble the cooled cake into a large bowl using your hands or a fork.
- Add the cream cheese frosting and mix until fully combined and dough-like in texture.
- Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Chill the cake balls in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or in the freezer for 20–30 minutes.
- Melt the chocolate wafers according to package directions.
- Dip each cake ball into the melted chocolate, allowing excess to drip off. Place back on the parchment paper.
- Decorate with sprinkles or crushed cake crumbs before the chocolate sets.
- Let the cake balls set completely at room temperature or in the fridge before serving.
Notes
- Use a cookie scoop for evenly sized cake balls.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
- You can use white chocolate for a classic look or dark chocolate for a richer flavor.
