Description

Puff pastry glazed doughnuts are a quick and easy twist on classic doughnuts, featuring flaky, golden layers and a sweet vanilla glaze—perfect for breakfast or a fun dessert treat.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 12 tbsp milk
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • All-purpose flour, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Lightly flour your surface and roll out the puff pastry slightly to smooth the seams.
  3. Using a round cutter, cut out doughnut shapes and a smaller cutter for the center holes. Re-roll scraps if needed.
  4. Place doughnut shapes and holes on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Brush with egg wash for a golden finish.
  6. Bake for 12–15 minutes or until puffed and golden brown. Let cool slightly.
  7. Meanwhile, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to form a smooth glaze.
  8. Dip warm doughnuts into the glaze and set on a rack to dry slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Enjoy warm for the flakiest texture.
  • Add food coloring or sprinkles to the glaze for a festive twist.
  • Use leftover pastry scraps to bake doughnut holes.
