Description

These puff pastry cheese straws are crispy, cheesy, and buttery, making them the perfect snack or appetizer for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • All-purpose flour, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Lightly flour your work surface and roll out the puff pastry sheet into a rectangle.
  3. Brush the surface of the puff pastry with the beaten egg.
  4. Sprinkle the cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and paprika evenly over half of the sheet.
  5. Fold the pastry in half over the cheese layer and gently press together.
  6. Roll the folded pastry slightly to seal and flatten it.
  7. Cut into 1/2-inch wide strips using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
  8. Twist each strip gently and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  9. Brush the tops with remaining egg wash.
  10. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden and puffed.
  11. Cool slightly before serving.
