Makes enough frosting for a 9×13-inch cake or 12-16 cupcakes:
- 1 (3.4 oz / 96 g) package of instant pudding mix (any flavor)
- 1 cup (240 ml) cold milk
- 1 (8 oz / 227 g) container of Cool Whip, thawed
Instructions
-
Prepare the pudding:
- In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the instant pudding mix and cold milk until smooth. Let it sit for 1-2 minutes to thicken slightly.
-
Fold in the Cool Whip:
- Gently fold the thawed Cool Whip into the prepared pudding until fully combined and fluffy. Be careful not to overmix, as it can deflate the frosting.
-
Frost your dessert:
- Spread or pipe the frosting onto your cooled cake, cupcakes, or dessert of choice.
-
Chill and serve:
- Refrigerate the frosted dessert for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the frosting to set.
Flavor Variations
- Chocolate Delight: Use chocolate pudding mix and garnish with chocolate shavings.
- Lemon Bliss: Use lemon pudding mix and add a sprinkle of lemon zest on top.
- Vanilla Classic: Use vanilla pudding mix and a splash of almond extract for extra flavor.
- Strawberry Dream: Use strawberry pudding mix and top with fresh strawberries.

Notes

- If you prefer a sweeter frosting, mix in 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar with the pudding.
