  • 10 cups popped popcorn (about 1/2 cup unpopped kernels)
  • 1 cup pecans, roughly chopped
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

1. Prepare the Popcorn and Pecans:

  1. Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. Spread the popped popcorn and pecans evenly on the prepared baking sheet.

2. Make the Praline Caramel Sauce:

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the brown sugar, butter, corn syrup, and salt. Stir continuously until the butter melts and the mixture begins to bubble.
  2. Let the mixture boil for 3-4 minutes without stirring.
  3. Remove the saucepan from heat and quickly stir in the baking soda and vanilla extract. The mixture will foam slightly.

3. Coat the Popcorn:

  1. Pour the hot praline caramel sauce over the popcorn and pecans. Use a spatula to gently toss and coat everything evenly.

4. Bake:

  1. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes to ensure even coating.
  2. Remove from the oven and let the popcorn cool completely on the baking sheet. The coating will harden as it cools.

5. Serve:

  1. Once cooled, break the praline popcorn into clusters. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
