Description

Philly Cheesesteak Dip is a rich, cheesy appetizer inspired by the classic sandwich. It’s loaded with seasoned beef, sautéed peppers and onions, and melted cheese—perfect for scooping with bread, chips, or veggies.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 lb ribeye or sirloin steak, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)
  • Sliced baguette, tortilla chips, or crackers for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add steak and cook until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté onions and peppers until softened, about 4–5 minutes. Add garlic and cook 1 more minute.
  4. Chop the cooked steak into small pieces and return to the skillet with the veggies.
  5. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise until smooth. Stir in half of the shredded cheese.
  6. Add the beef and veggie mixture to the bowl and combine well. Season with salt and pepper.
  7. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish, top with remaining cheese, and bake for 15–20 minutes, until hot and bubbly.
  8. Garnish with parsley if desired and serve immediately with bread or chips.

Notes

  • Use deli roast beef as a shortcut for the steak.
  • Try a mix of provolone, mozzarella, or cheddar for a cheesier flavor.
  • Make ahead and bake just before serving.
