  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 68 slices provolone cheese (or shredded mozzarella)

Optional Garnish:

  • Chopped fresh parsley
  • Red pepper flakes (for a bit of heat)

For Serving:

  • Hoagie rolls
  • Cooked rice
  • Pasta

Instructions

🍳 Cook the Ground Beef:

  1. Heat the Oil:

    • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Brown the Beef:

    • Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula (5-7 minutes).
    • Drain excess fat if needed.

🌶️ Cook the Vegetables:

  1. Sauté Onions and Peppers:

    • Push the beef to one side of the skillet.
    • Add the sliced onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms (if using) to the other side.
    • Cook until vegetables are tender (5 minutes).
  2. Combine and Add Garlic:

    • Mix the vegetables with the beef.
    • Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

🥄 Add Seasonings:

  1. Mix in Flavor:
    • Stir in Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
    • Cook for 2-3 minutes until well combined.

🧀 Melt the Cheese:

  1. Add Cheese:

    • Reduce heat to low.
    • Lay provolone cheese slices over the beef and vegetable mixture.
    • Cover with a lid and let the cheese melt (2-3 minutes).
  2. Optional:

    • For a golden, bubbly top, place the skillet under the broiler for 1-2 minutes, keeping a close eye to avoid burning.

🍽️ Serve:

  1. Serve Hot:

    • Sprinkle with fresh parsley and red pepper flakes if desired.
  2. Serving Suggestions:

    • Spoon the mixture into hoagie rolls for a classic Philly cheesesteak vibe.
    • Serve over rice, pasta, or alongside roasted potatoes for a complete meal.
