Scale
- 8 ounces (225g) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup (100g) sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup (120g) pepper jelly
- Fresh chives, chopped (for garnish)
- Crackers or toasted baguette slices (for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the Cheese Mixture:
- In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded sharp cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until smooth and well combined.
- Transfer to Baking Dish:
- Spread the cheese mixture evenly into a small oven-safe baking dish.
- Bake:
- Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the dip is hot and bubbly.
- Add Pepper Jelly:
- While the dip is baking, gently warm the pepper jelly in a microwave-safe bowl for about 15-20 seconds to make it easier to spread.
- Once the dip is done baking, carefully spread the warmed pepper jelly over the top of the hot cheese mixture.
- Garnish and Serve:
- Sprinkle chopped fresh chives over the top for garnish.
- Serve warm with crackers or toasted baguette slices.
Notes
- For a milder flavor, use a sweet pepper jelly. For more heat, choose a hot pepper jelly.
- This dip can also be served cold. Simply mix the cheese ingredients, spread into a dish, top with pepper jelly, and serve without baking.
- To soften cream cheese quickly, cut it into small pieces and let it sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes.
