Description

This Pepper Jelly Cheese Dip features a creamy blend of cream cheese and sharp cheddar, topped with a sweet and spicy pepper jelly glaze. It’s an irresistible appetizer that’s both easy to prepare and a crowd-pleaser at any event.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 8 ounces (225g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup (100g) sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup (120g) pepper jelly
  • Fresh chives, chopped (for garnish)
  • Crackers or toasted baguette slices (for serving)

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Prepare the Cheese Mixture:
    • In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded sharp cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until smooth and well combined.
  • Transfer to Baking Dish:
    • Spread the cheese mixture evenly into a small oven-safe baking dish.
  • Bake:
    • Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the dip is hot and bubbly.
  • Add Pepper Jelly:
    • While the dip is baking, gently warm the pepper jelly in a microwave-safe bowl for about 15-20 seconds to make it easier to spread.
    • Once the dip is done baking, carefully spread the warmed pepper jelly over the top of the hot cheese mixture.
  • Garnish and Serve:
    • Sprinkle chopped fresh chives over the top for garnish.
    • Serve warm with crackers or toasted baguette slices.

Notes

  • For a milder flavor, use a sweet pepper jelly. For more heat, choose a hot pepper jelly.
  • This dip can also be served cold. Simply mix the cheese ingredients, spread into a dish, top with pepper jelly, and serve without baking.
  • To soften cream cheese quickly, cut it into small pieces and let it sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes.
