Description

These Pecan Pie Balls are bite-sized treats that capture the classic flavors of pecan pie in a no-bake truffle form. Made with chopped pecans, graham cracker crumbs, and a touch of maple syrup, these truffles are sweet, nutty, and perfect for holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 2 cups pecans, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 15 oz dark chocolate melting wafers (or semi-sweet chocolate chips)

Instructions

  1. Mix the Filling:

    • In a large bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, chopped pecans, brown sugar, maple syrup, melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir until the mixture is well combined and forms a sticky, moldable dough.
  2. Shape into Balls:

    • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Using your hands, roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Freeze the Balls:
    • Freeze the pecan balls for about 1 hour, or until they are firm.
  4. Melt the Chocolate:

    • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate wafers in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth.
  5. Dip in Chocolate:

    • Using a fork, dip each pecan ball into the melted chocolate, allowing any excess to drip off. Place each dipped ball back onto the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Set and Serve:

    • Refrigerate the dipped pecan pie balls until the chocolate is set, about 20 minutes. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Storage: Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week or freeze for up to 2 months. Allow frozen balls to thaw before serving.
  • Flavor Variations: Add a splash of rum or bourbon to the filling for a boozy twist. Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top of each truffle for added flavor.
