Ingredients
Scale
3 tbsp unsalted butter
1 bag (10 oz) mini marshmallows
3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
1 cup M&M’s (freeze for 30 minutes to prevent melting)
Instructions
Prepare the Pan: Line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper or lightly coat with cooking spray. Set aside.
Melt the Butter and Marshmallows: In a large saucepan over medium-low heat, melt the butter. Add the marshmallows and stir continuously until they are completely melted and smooth. Remove from heat.
Add Peanut Butter and Vanilla: Stir in the peanut butter and vanilla extract until well combined.
Mix in the Cereal: Add the Rice Krispies cereal to the marshmallow mixture and stir until the cereal is evenly coated.
Fold in M&M’s: Quickly but gently fold in most of the M&M’s, saving a few to press on top for decoration.
Transfer to Pan: Pour the mixture into the prepared pan. Using a greased spatula, press the mixture gently into the pan to create an even layer. Avoid pressing too hard to keep the treats soft and chewy.
Cool and Set: Sprinkle the reserved M&M’s on top, pressing them lightly into the surface. Allow the treats to cool for 1-2 hours before cutting into squares.
Notes
Storage: Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
Variations: Swap in peanut butter M&M’s or add chopped pretzels for extra crunch.
