Ingredients

1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

3/4 cup creamy peanut butter

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

Add peanut butter, egg, and vanilla. Mix until well combined.

In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.

Fold in the chocolate chips.

Scoop dough into 1½-tablespoon balls and place 2 inches apart on prepared baking sheets.

Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers may look soft—this is perfect!

Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

For extra peanut butter flavor, use peanut butter chips or swirl in extra PB before baking.
