Description

This 5-minute fudge recipe is a no-fail classic from Paula Deen. It’s rich, chocolatey, and made with just a few simple ingredients. Perfect for holidays, gifting, or whenever you need a quick dessert fix!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 (12 oz) package semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan:
    • Line an 8×8-inch or 9×9-inch square baking pan with parchment paper or foil, leaving some overhang for easy removal. Lightly grease the lining.
  2. Melt the Chocolate and Butterscotch Chips:
    • In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine the sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, and butterscotch chips.
    • Heat over low-medium heat, stirring constantly until the chips are fully melted and the mixture is smooth.
  3. Add the Flavorings:
    • Remove the saucepan from heat. Stir in the vanilla extract and nuts (if using) until well combined.
  4. Pour and Set:
    • Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and spread it evenly with a spatula.
    • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until firm.
  5. Slice and Serve:
    • Once set, lift the fudge out of the pan using the parchment or foil overhang. Cut into small squares and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a fun twist, substitute the nuts with mini marshmallows, crushed cookies, or peppermint bits.
  • Store the fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
