Patriotic Jello Cookies are vibrant, chewy sugar cookies flavored and colored with red and blue gelatin—perfect for celebrating the Fourth of July or any patriotic event.

- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 (3 oz) package red Jello (strawberry or cherry)
- 1 (3 oz) package blue Jello (berry blue)
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Optional: extra red and blue Jello powder for rolling
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter, sugar, and red or blue Jello powder until fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
- Divide dough if making both red and blue batches. Repeat with the second Jello flavor.
- Roll dough into 1-inch balls and roll in extra dry Jello powder for brighter color (optional).
- Place on prepared baking sheet and flatten slightly with the bottom of a glass.
- Bake for 8–10 minutes or until edges are set. Do not overbake.
- Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- You can also use lemon or lime Jello for a multi-color batch.
- Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
- These cookies freeze well for up to 3 months.
